Permissions

The authorization within the document management module allows the assignment of specific tasks and operations to users or permission groups. This authorization system determines what documents, folders, and content users can access, how they can view and edit them, and what actions they can perform. Authorization is used to ensure security and improve efficiency in business processes. It can be defined through DM Explorer or via the Administrative Tools > Security menu.

Getting Started

How to Access Authorization Operations?

  • DM Explorer: Access via the right-click menu or by clicking the Security button in the top menu.
  • Administrative Tools > Security: Used for permissions applicable across the module.
  • Repository, Folder, or File-based Authorization: Authorization can be assigned specifically to each object through DM Explorer.

What is the Scope of Authorization?

  • Permissions can be assigned to users or permission groups, valid in specific directories or throughout the entire module.
  • Permissions are defined with the options Allow, Deny, and Unassigned:
    • Allow: Grants the relevant permission to the user.
    • Deny: The most dominant permission, overrides permissions from other groups or directories.
    • Unassigned: Indicates that no assignment has been made for the relevant permission.
